Jennifer Van Houten, Vice President

Ms. Van Houten has over 25 years of experience in environmental consulting with a specialization in wetlands and water resource management for both the private and public sectors.  She received a B.S. in Environmental Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in 1998.  Starting as an intern at Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI) in 1994, her primary responsibilities included monitoring and maintenance of created wetland sites in addition to providing assistance with wetland delineations, mapping, endangered and threatened species searches, applying for and obtaining U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality Clean Water Act, Sections 401 and 404 permits, performing water, soil, and/or plant species monitoring and reporting of potential and created wetland mitigation sites, wetland and stream post- construction monitoring and reporting, vegetation, hydrology, soil, wetland, stream and buffer condition assessments, as well as participating in stream surveys for natural channel design and monitoring and assessment. Her current responsibilities focus on the management of WSSI’s wetland and stream mitigation banks and wetlands and stream research projects.  In January 2021, Ms. Van Houten joined Davey Mitigation, a division of WSSI’s parent company.   In her spare time, she enjoys spending time in nature, listening to music, traveling, and learning about all things related to holistic healing.

Vicki Schreckengost, Secretary/Treasurer

With over 25 years of accounting experience and over 20 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Vicki L. Schreckengost serves as Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc.’s (WSSI) Controller.  She started with WSSI in September 2004 in the capacity of Billing and Financial Analyst and was promoted to Controller in August 2005.  Prior to working for WSSI, she used her accounting skills for various small businesses, including working at Micron as a Cost Accountant.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Robert Morris College in Moon Township, Pennsylvania and was certified as a CPA in Pennsylvania before transferring her CPA license to Virginia in 2004.  She currently manages a team of 9 Accountants and maintains financials for WSSI as well as 5 other divisions of their parent company, Davey Resource Group, Inc.  In her spare time, she helps her husband operate Next Level Fitness & Performance, the fitness facility they started in Haymarket, VA.  Along with working and working out, she enjoys gardening and playing with her golden retriever Tulsa.
